We went to KinderMusik this morning for the first time. It was the last session for June; the one for July hasn't made yet. I met Carl's dancing partner, the teacher, Celeste. She is very lively and full of fun. The kids have been learning about jungle music and frogs. Each was to bring an "instrument" of some kind. We didn't know, but Celeste had brought extras. I've forgotten the word she called it, but they had learned about something I would call a rasp, a wooden piece with bumps that you use your stick to run over and make sounds. Some had brought plastic bottles. There was a bubble machine and a sort of drum with small balls that made a sound like the ocean. We had a good time. We finished by making tamborines.
The afternoon activity is not going so well. They swim from 1:30 to 3 in the WT pool (which has been remodeled, G & M, since our days with the Olympic pool. This one has a shallow section with a fountain and buckets that spill over when they get full, a lap pool, a lazy river, a tide pool, and a slide. I haven't found out what she doesn't like. Maybe today.
Silvia and Neil left yesterday morning. They stopped last night in Santa Fe because he hadn't been, and I had taken Silvia and Susan in 2007, and Carl and Susan to see Matina in 2006. I think Silvia liked it a lot and wanted to go back.
I guess the rain is over. I have a bumper crop of weeds. It is mostly spurge and some kind of grass that makes burrs that stick to your clothes. The beans are blooming, and there is one tomato. Susan and I spend some time outside in the mornings before it gets hot.
